A glyph is a pictograph or hieroglyph. It is a way to collect, display, and interpret data. The magic of using glyphs to teach math skills (like counting, sorting, making tally marks, combining sets, measuring, and making patterns) is that in the process, students are also thinking critically by comparing and contrasting, reasoning, and drawing conclusions. It's a fun way to present concepts required by the Common Core State Standards.
