Huddled together in a small chateau, mothers and children cling to each other. Weeping. Men stand guard. Waiting. Outside their walls, government troops prepare a battering ram for their final assault on the Christians of France, the Huguenots. 16-year-old Philip Fletcher now realizes this is the end. But the voice of a little boy bravely sings out: “A mighty fortress is our God…a bulwark never failing…” A chorus of voices joins him. And together, they push back the shadows with the overcoming hope of their song.
